According to a report by The Punch on Friday, October 23, 2026, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has broken his silence on his relationship with Everton boss David Moyes, describing the veteran manager as a true icon of English football ahead of their crucial Premier League showdown at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Arteta heaped heavy praise on his former manager, highlighting his remarkable longevity, coaching trajectory, and immense contribution to the Premier League.

The Spanish tactician, who spent six rewarding years playing under Moyes at Goodison Park, admitted that he looks up to the experienced coach both professionally and personally.

However, the Arsenal boss quickly shifted focus to the pitch, warning his players that they face a very difficult test against a highly organized Everton side.

Arteta pointed out that the Toffees possess individual quality and tactical discipline capable of causing serious problems, noting that past encounters between both clubs have consistently been tight affairs.

Meanwhile, team preparations have faced a notable setback with confirmation that star winger Bukayo Saka is set to miss the weekend clash as Arsenal anxiously awaits final results from his injury scans.

Despite the absence of key players, Arteta emphasized that his squad must adapt to different match contexts and continue delivering exciting performances to satisfy high fan expectations.

Arteta also addressed ongoing discussions surrounding tactical approaches, maintaining that opponents will always set up in ways they believe can breach the team.

He stressed that Arsenal must remain focused on maintaining consistency and securing maximum points.

Fans will watch closely to see how the Gunners cope without their talismanic forward against a resilient Everton squad this Saturday.
