According to a report by Football London on November 2, 2026, Arsenal have received a significant boost in the Premier League title race after moving three points clear of Manchester City following their impressive 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
The Gunners secured a memorable result on Sunday, November 1, with Kai Havertz scoring the only goal of the game to hand Mikel Arteta's side their first victory at Anfield in 14 years. The result was particularly important because Manchester City had suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, with their latest setback coming against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Arsenal took full advantage of City's disappointing results to strengthen their position at the top of the table. With the international break approaching, Arteta's men now have an opportunity to build on their momentum and increase the pressure on their closest title rivals.
The north London club's next five Premier League fixtures, however, will provide a significant test of their title credentials. Arsenal return to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 7, to face newly promoted Hull City, knowing that another victory would allow them to maintain their advantage before the international break.
They will then travel to face Newcastle United on November 21 before hosting Manchester City in what could prove to be one of the most important matches of the title race on Sunday, November 29.
Following that crucial encounter, Arsenal will travel to Brentford on December 2 before facing Tottenham Hotspur away from home on December 6.
The meeting with Tottenham is another important fixture for Arteta's side, particularly given the intensity of the north London derby. Arsenal will therefore need to maintain their consistency if they are to protect their position at the top of the standings.
Manchester City, meanwhile, have a different set of challenges during the same period. Pep Guardiola's side begin their next five league matches with an away trip to Nottingham Forest on November 7.
They will then welcome Fulham to the Etihad Stadium on November 21 before travelling to the Emirates to face Arsenal eight days later.
City's remaining two fixtures in the period are a home match against Leeds United on December 2 and an away encounter with Brentford on December 5.
The two title rivals will meet on November 29, making that fixture particularly significant. Arsenal could extend their advantage to six points with a victory, while a City win would reduce the gap at the summit.
Both clubs also have Champions League commitments to consider. Arsenal are scheduled to face Slavia Praha on November 4, Borussia Dortmund on November 24 and Real Madrid on December 9. Manchester City will take on RB Leipzig on November 4, Napoli on November 24 and Barcelona on December 8.
The additional European fixtures could test the depth of both squads as the demanding festive schedule approaches.
After the victory over Liverpool, Arteta expressed his pride in his players, describing the occasion as a special moment for everyone connected with Arsenal.
"So happy, so proud, full of energy. What can I say - it's a proud moment for everybody attached with the football club," he said.
The Arsenal manager also praised his team's preparation and determination to secure the historic victory, insisting that the players deserved enormous credit for their performance.
With a three-point advantage already established, Arsenal have given themselves an important opportunity in the title race. However, their upcoming meetings with Newcastle, Manchester City and Tottenham could have a major influence on whether they remain ahead of Guardiola's side.
