According to a report by Madrid Universal on Friday October 30, 2026, Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has admitted that he would love to return to Spain amid speculation linking him with Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 27-year-old, however, insists that neither Spanish giant has made a concrete approach for his signature despite reports connecting him with a potential move.
Speaking during an interview with Cadena SER's El Larguero, the Spanish international expressed his desire to return to his home country while remaining respectful towards his current employers.
Porro explained that discussing a possible transfer would be inappropriate because he remains under contract with Tottenham. He also acknowledged the respect the London club has shown him since his arrival.
The defender admitted that returning to Spain would be an exciting opportunity because of his strong connection to the country. However, he clarified that he had received no direct information suggesting that either Real Madrid or Barcelona were actively pursuing him.
According to Porro, some clubs have made enquiries about his situation, but none of those conversations developed into serious interest from the two Spanish heavyweights.
His current contract with Tottenham runs until 2031, following an extension signed before the World Cup. This could make any potential departure financially complicated for interested clubs.
When asked whether his playing style would suit Real Madrid or Barcelona better, Porro refused to favour either side. He instead described himself as a versatile footballer capable of adapting to different tactical systems.
Real Madrid could find his attacking qualities particularly attractive. His overlapping runs, crossing ability and creativity could provide an alternative at right-back while allowing Federico Valverde to return to his preferred midfield position.
However, Madrid must also consider their existing options. Denzel Dumfries only arrived during the summer, while Trent Alexander-Arnold remains determined to establish himself under Jose Mourinho despite his difficulties.
Porro's potential availability could interest Madrid, but a transfer remains uncertain as the defender continues his career in England.
