Barcelona fan Faces Stadium Ban After Assaulting Real Madrid Midfielder During El Clasico

According to a report by Barca Universal on Thursday, October 29, 2026, a Barcelona supporter could face a significant financial penalty and a possible stadium ban after allegedly attacking Eduardo Camavinga and other Real Madrid players with a flagpole during the recent El Clasico encounter at Camp Nou.

The incident reportedly happened as Real Madrid players celebrated their second goal in the heated contest. During the celebrations, the supporter allegedly used a flagpole to strike Camavinga and some of his teammates in the face, prompting an investigation by the authorities.

Catalan police have reportedly identified the individual and commenced administrative proceedings following a formal complaint from LaLiga. Barcelona have also assisted investigators by providing relevant information to help establish the identity of the person involved.

The Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police force, are handling the matter under Spain’s Sports Law. The eventual punishment will depend on the seriousness of the offence and the classification reached by the relevant authorities.

Under Spanish legislation, serious violations can attract fines ranging from €3,000 to €60,000. However, offences classified as very serious carry considerably higher penalties, with fines starting at €60,001 and potentially reaching €650,000.

Based on the available report, the incident is expected to be treated as a serious infringement because no physical damage was recorded. If that classification is maintained, the supporter could receive a financial penalty within the lower range, alongside a possible prohibition from attending sporting events for between two and five years.

Barcelona's cooperation has reportedly been valuable in helping the police identify the individual. LaLiga has specifically recognised the club's security department for its assistance throughout the investigation.

The league also disclosed that the supporter is associated with a group connected to the Grada 1957 section at Camp Nou. The matter will subsequently be forwarded to Barcelona's Disciplinary Committee, which is expected to examine whether additional internal sanctions should be imposed.

Meanwhile, the administrative investigation will determine the final punishment under Spanish law.

The development has renewed discussions about stadium security and unacceptable behaviour among football supporters, particularly during high-profile matches. With El Clasico attracting enormous attention, incidents involving players and spectators remain a serious concern for football authorities.

For now, the supporter faces the possibility of a substantial fine and a lengthy stadium ban, although the final decision will depend on the outcome of the ongoing proceedings.
