According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday October 23, 2026, Karim Adeyemi has identified Xavi Espart as the Barcelona academy youngster who has impressed him most since joining the Catalan club.
The winger praised the young midfielder's quality during a question-and-answer session ahead of Sunday's El Clasico against Real Madrid.
Adeyemi answered questions from supporters through Barcelona's official YouTube channel on Friday. He discussed his experience at the club, his relationship with manager Hansi Flick and his adaptation to life in Catalonia.
When asked which La Masia prospect had caught his attention, the German international responded enthusiastically. "Xavi Espart is really good. He impressed me," Adeyemi said.
Espart has enjoyed an encouraging breakthrough campaign with Barcelona. His recent performances have demonstrated his potential, despite the team's 4-2 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Adeyemi also explained why joining Barcelona was an easy decision. He highlighted the club's history of attracting some of football's greatest players and described the institution as incredible.
The winger revealed that settling into his new surroundings had been straightforward. He praised the weather, the welcoming locals and the positive atmosphere he had experienced since arriving.
Adeyemi also credited Flick for influencing his decision to join Barcelona. He described the German coach as an important figure who maintains a special connection with his players. He added that Flick encouraged him to enjoy the club's atmosphere and the people of Catalonia.
The forward identified his first home goal against Feyenoord as one of his favourite moments in a Barcelona shirt. However, he hopes Sunday's El Clasico will deliver an even more memorable experience.
Adeyemi also discussed his toughest teammates to defend against during training. He mentioned both Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, admitting that choosing between them was impossible.
The winger named Andres Iniesta, Neymar and Ronaldinho among his favourite former Barcelona players, excluding Lionel Messi. He also expressed admiration for Spotify Camp Nou, describing the stadium as beautiful and incredible.
Finally, Adeyemi confidently predicted that he would beat fellow summer signing Anthony Gordon in a sprint.
