BAR 1-2 RMA: Players Responsible for Barcelona's Disappointing El Clasico Defeat

According to a report by Flashscore on Sunday October 25, 2026, as a result of missing multiple golden opportunity, Barcelona lost El Clasico to Real Madrid 2-1.

Raphinha equalized in the 61st minute after Kylian Mbappe scored the first goal of the match. However, Real Madrid were victorious thanks to a second goal from Mbappe in the 88th minute, which he scored after receiving a pass from Eduardo Camavinga.

The hosts lost to their fierce rivals Barcelona despite a better offensive performance after the break. Several players missed golden opportunities.

1. Lamine Yamal

Even though he had promising attacking moments, Yamal had a frustrating evening overall. In the 44th minute, with the ball inside the six-yard box, the Barcelona winger had a golden opportunity but sent his effort narrowly wide of the right post.

After the break, he persisted in trying to find an equalizer, but a defender stopped his 65th-minute shot. After missing the target in the 74th minute, he had another opportunity in the 82nd minute, but this time it was blocked. His failure to capitalize on these opportunities cost him dearly.

2. Anthony Gordon

Gordon had a hard time converting his offensive efforts into a game-winning goal for Barcelona. His powerful effort from the edge of the penalty area was denied by Andriy Lunin in the 16th minute, who made a crucial save.

In the 35th minute, he set up yet another good chance, but the Madrid goalkeeper made a fantastic save to keep it out. After a heavy challenge in the 85th minute, Gordon was eventually sent off and replaced. Even though he challenged Lunin, Barcelona was irritated by the chances he failed to capitalize on.

3. Fermin Lopez

Barcelona lacked the offensive spark that Fermin could have offered throughout the match. A Real Madrid defender stopped his shot in its tracks in the 24th minute, just as it was about to test Lunin.

Even though he kept playing in the middle of the field, he was unable to help Madrid secure the victory. In an effort to elicit a more robust offensive reaction, Hansi Flick eventually substituted him in the 74th minute with Frenkie de Jong.

4. Joao Cancelo

Cancelo had a hard time finding the back of the net for Real Madrid. To keep Barcelona from posing any serious danger from the corner kick, he sent it in at the 35-minute mark and Lunin read it well.

On the other hand, in the 59th minute, he attempted a dangerous lofted cross into the penalty area, but the defense of Madrid managed to intercept the ball. He tried to widen the field and provide attacking support, but it was in vain.
