According to a report by Fabrizio romano on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Barcelona forward Raphinha has played down concerns that the team's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain could affect their performance in the upcoming El Clásico, insisting that the result will not influence their preparations for the highly anticipated encounter.

The Brazilian international made the remarks when asked whether Barcelona's loss to the French champions could have an impact on the team's mentality ahead of their clash with Real Madrid. His response was brief and confident: “No.”

Raphinha's statement reflects his determination to move beyond the disappointment of the PSG defeat and focus on Barcelona's next challenge. The Catalan club will be eager to respond positively, particularly with El Clásico representing one of the most important fixtures on their calendar.

Matches between Barcelona and Real Madrid are often decided by small details, with both sides under pressure to deliver strong performances in front of their supporters. Beyond the points at stake, the rivalry carries significant prestige, making the outcome especially important for the players, coaches and fans of both clubs.

For Barcelona, recovering quickly from a disappointing result will be essential. Defeats against elite European opposition can expose weaknesses, but they can also provide valuable lessons as a team seeks to improve its performance in subsequent matches.

Raphinha remains an important figure in Barcelona's attacking setup, bringing pace, creativity and directness to the team's forward line. His confidence could prove valuable as the squad prepares for another demanding test against their domestic rivals.

However, Barcelona will need more than confidence to secure a positive result against Real Madrid. Defensive organisation, midfield control and efficiency in front of goal could all play decisive roles in determining the outcome.

Raphinha's comments suggest that Barcelona are determined not to allow their setback against PSG to become a distraction. Whether the team can translate that confidence into a convincing performance will be clearer when the two Spanish giants meet.

With anticipation building around El Clásico, Barcelona will be focused on putting the defeat behind them and delivering a response on the pitch.
