Barcelona's Rodri names strongest team in Europe

According to a report by daily post Nigeria on Sunday October 18, 2026, Rodri has described Paris Saint-Germain as the strongest team in Europe ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League visit to the French capital on Tuesday.

The Spanish midfielder made the comments after Barcelona recorded a 5-2 victory over Real Betis in LaLiga. Speaking to the club’s official media, Rodri said the team’s attention had already turned to the difficult test awaiting them in Paris.

“Our full focus is now on Paris Saint-Germain, who may well be the strongest team in Europe at the moment,” he said. “We’ll go toe-to-toe with them and see where we stand. They’ll give everything at home.”

Rodri’s assessment reflects the challenge Barcelona are likely to face against a PSG side playing in front of its home supporters.

The Parisians will be eager to make the most of that advantage, while Barcelona will look to carry the confidence from their convincing win over Betis into the European encounter.

PSG enter the matchup with a strong recent record in the competition, having won last season’s Champions League final against Arsenal.

That triumph strengthened the French club’s reputation among Europe’s elite and raised expectations for another successful campaign.

The Paris side will now be looking to defend its title and continue its run of success in the tournament. Barcelona, meanwhile, will have the chance to measure themselves against one of the continent’s leading teams.

As Rodri suggested, Tuesday’s match should offer a clear indication of where both clubs stand among Europe’s top sides.

With PSG aiming to protect their home ground and Barcelona seeking a positive result, the contest promises to be a significant test for both teams.
