Turkey: Iheanacho sets sights on leading Bursaspor back to Super Lig

According to a report by Daily Post on Friday, October 30, 2026, the Nigerian striker has quickly established himself as one of the team's most important players, playing a major role in their strong campaign in the Turkish second division.

Bursaspor currently occupy the top position in the TFF First League standings, having collected 28 points from 12 matches. The club are hoping to maintain their momentum throughout the season and secure a return to the country's top football division.

Iheanacho has been particularly influential in their promotion campaign. The 30-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 12 league appearances, making him a key figure in Mustafa Er's squad.

His outstanding goalscoring record has increased expectations among supporters, who are hoping the former Leicester City and Manchester City forward can continue delivering important contributions as the season progresses.

Speaking to Fanatik, Iheanacho explained that the team's primary ambition is to win the league championship and earn promotion to the Süper Lig. He also made it clear that the players remain focused on achieving those objectives.

"We aim to become champions and get promoted to the Süper Lig. We want to do this and we are playing for it," Iheanacho said.

The striker's comments reflect the determination within the Bursaspor dressing room as the club continues its pursuit of promotion. Maintaining their position at the summit will be important, particularly as other teams compete for the available promotion places.

Bursaspor will need consistent performances from their leading players during the remaining fixtures, and Iheanacho's current form could prove decisive in their efforts.

With 16 goals already recorded in the league, the Nigerian international has demonstrated his ability to influence matches and deliver results. The club will therefore be hoping he maintains his excellent form and continues leading their attack as they target the league title and a return to Turkish top-flight football.
