According to a report by BBC Sports on Sunday October 25 2026, Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe emerged as the Man of the Match following his outstanding performance in his team's impressive 2-1 victory over Barcelona in their highly anticipated La Liga encounter at Spotify Camp Nou.

The French international delivered a match-winning performance, scoring twice to help Real Madrid secure an important victory against their biggest domestic rivals.

Mbappe received an impressive 8.2 rating from Sofascore, making him the highest-rated player in the encounter. He also received 21,110 votes from supporters in the platform's Player of the Match poll, further highlighting his influence on the contest.

Real Madrid entered the encounter determined to reduce Barcelona's advantage in the La Liga standings, with Jose Mourinho's players knowing that victory would strengthen their position in the championship race.

The visitors demonstrated their attacking intentions during the opening stages, with Mbappe constantly threatening Barcelona's defensive line through his intelligent movement and impressive pace.

His efforts eventually produced the opening goal in the 41st minute when Gerard Martin attempted to clear a dangerous delivery into Barcelona's penalty area.

However, the defender's clearance struck Mbappe and redirected the ball into the net, giving Real Madrid a 1-0 advantage before the halftime break.

Barcelona returned for the second period determined to recover from their disappointing first-half performance.

Their persistence eventually paid off in the 61st minute when Brazilian winger Raphinha scored an impressive equaliser following an intelligent pass from Pedri.

The goal restored parity and increased the pressure on Real Madrid, who needed another breakthrough to secure all three points.

However, Mbappe remained dangerous throughout the second half, constantly looking for opportunities to exploit Barcelona's defensive weaknesses.

His determination eventually produced the winning goal in the 88th minute when Eduardo Camavinga delivered an excellent pass across the penalty area.

Mbappe reacted quickly and finished from close range, restoring Real Madrid's advantage and completing his brace.

The French forward's second goal proved decisive as Mourinho's team successfully protected their narrow advantage during the closing stages.

Beyond his two goals, Mbappe registered two key passes, won five of his nine duels and drew four fouls during the encounter.

His attacking contributions consistently troubled Barcelona's defenders, making him one of the most influential players throughout the match.

Mbappe's impressive performance also helped Real Madrid reduce the gap between themselves and Barcelona to just three points in the La Liga standings.

The Catalan giants remain at the top with 27 points, while Atletico Madrid occupy second position with 25 points. Real Madrid sit third with 24 points following their important victory.

For Mbappe, his two-goal performance represented another memorable achievement in his Real Madrid career, particularly considering the importance of El Clasico.
