According to a report by BBC SPORT on Sunday October 25, 2026, Bournemouth secured a 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, after taking advantage of defensive mistakes to claim all three points.
Rayan gave the visitors the lead in the first half before Marcus Tavernier scored their second goal. Evanilson added a third after the break to complete a disappointing afternoon for Manchester United.
Bournemouth threatened early in the match, but Rayan failed to convert a good opportunity in the fifth minute when he headed wide from a corner despite being unmarked in the penalty area. Tavernier also tested United goalkeeper Senne Lammens with a shot from the edge of the box.
United tried to control the game through their passing, but Bournemouth continued to create chances. Diogo Dalot sent an effort over the crossbar, while Bryan Mbeumo forced Djordje Petrovic to make an excellent save with a low shot.
Bournemouth took the lead in the 38th minute when Justin Kluivert delivered a free-kick into the box. Rayan found space behind the United defence and finished into the bottom-left corner.
The visitors doubled their advantage five minutes later after a defensive error from United gave Tavernier the chance to score from close range in the 43rd minute. Carlos Baleba nearly added another before half-time, but his effort went narrowly over the crossbar.
Michael Carrick brought on Matheus Cunha at the start of the second half as United searched for a way back into the game. However, Lammens had to rely on an excellent save to deny Rayan shortly after the restart.
Mbeumo and Cunha had opportunities to reduce the deficit, but United could not find the net. Bournemouth then made it 3-0 in the 71st minute when Evanilson took advantage of another defensive lapse and calmly finished from the edge of the box.
Carrick made more substitutions in an attempt to change the result, but Bournemouth remained solid at the back. Leny Yoro missed a late headed chance as United's attempts to score continued to fail.
The defeat left Manchester United frustrated by their defensive errors and missed chances, while Bournemouth left Old Trafford with a convincing away win.
