SLA 1-2 ARS: Match Review And Updated UEFA Champions League Table

According to a report by BBC Sport on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Arsenal secured a 2-1 victory over Slavia Prague in their UEFA Champions League league-phase encounter at the Fortuna Arena, extending their unbeaten run in the competition.

Mikel Arteta's side produced an impressive first-half performance to establish a two-goal advantage before surviving a late fightback from the Czech champions to collect all three points.

Arsenal made an excellent start to the encounter and took the lead in the ninth minute through Noni Madueke. The England international capitalised on an intelligent flick from Viktor Gyokeres, who redirected David Raya's long ball into his path.

Madueke raced through on goal before calmly finishing through the legs of Slavia Prague goalkeeper Nazar Domchak to give the visitors an early advantage.

The Gunners continued to create opportunities, with Mikel Merino coming close to extending their lead. The Spanish midfielder saw his long-range effort pushed over the crossbar by Domchak before missing two additional opportunities.

Gyokeres also remained influential in Arsenal's attacking play, combining effectively with his teammates as the visitors looked to increase their advantage.

Their second goal eventually arrived in the 38th minute through the Swedish striker. Gyokeres exchanged passes with Merino before producing an excellent finish that struck the post on its way into the net. Arsenal therefore went into the half-time interval with a comfortable 2-0 advantage after dominating proceedings in the opening 45 minutes.

Slavia Prague returned with greater determination after the restart and immediately tested Raya through Oskar Kubiak, whose long-range attempt was pushed away by the Arsenal goalkeeper.

The hosts continued to apply pressure, with Emmanuel Ayaosi also attempting to reduce the deficit, but his effort took a deflection off Ezri Konsa and went wide.

Arsenal were subsequently forced to defend their advantage as Slavia increased their attacking intensity. Gabriel became particularly important, producing two outstanding goal-line clearances in quick succession to prevent the home side from scoring.

Raya also made an important intervention to keep out Kubiak's header as the visitors struggled to maintain control. However, Slavia eventually found the net in the 90th minute when Wiktor Nowak converted David Jurasek's dangerous delivery from close range.

Despite the late pressure, Arsenal held on to secure a valuable victory. The result extended their unbeaten away record in the Champions League to 10 matches.
