EPL: Paul Scholes Says Three Man City Players Will End Up at Arsenal if They Get Relegated

According to a report by Football London on Saturday, October 17, 2026, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has predicted that Jeremy Doku, Rayan Cherki and Nico O’Reilly could move to Arsenal if Manchester City were relegated from the Premier League following their ongoing legal difficulties.

Manchester City continue to face uncertainty surrounding their legal case, with the possibility of significant sanctions attracting widespread attention. The club has consistently denied wrongdoing, while discussions about the potential consequences have raised questions about the futures of several key players.

Scholes has now shared his thoughts on where some of Manchester City's stars might end up if the club were forced out of England's top division. His predictions have generated interest among football supporters, particularly regarding the possibility of Arsenal benefiting from City's situation.

The former England international believes Erling Haaland could join Real Madrid, alongside goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and midfielder Enzo Fernandez. He also suggested that Elliot Anderson could move to Barcelona, while defender Marc Guehi might find himself at Liverpool.

However, Arsenal emerged as Scholes' preferred destination when he was asked about Doku, Cherki and O’Reilly. During a clip shared by The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast, he responded to each player's name with the same brief answer: “Arsenal!”

Although his comments were predictions rather than confirmed transfer information, they have encouraged discussions about how Arsenal could strengthen their squad if Manchester City's circumstances changed dramatically.

Doku would offer Arsenal considerable pace, direct running and dribbling ability on the wing. His capacity to take on defenders could provide manager Mikel Arteta with another attacking option, particularly in areas where additional depth could prove useful.

Cherki would bring creativity, technical ability and attacking unpredictability. His qualities could complement Arsenal's approach in the final third, potentially giving the team another player capable of creating opportunities and breaking down organised defences.

O’Reilly would offer versatility, with the ability to contribute in midfield and defensive positions. Nevertheless, Arsenal already have several options in those areas, including Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has demonstrated his ability to perform in different roles.

Despite the excitement surrounding Scholes' predictions, there is no confirmation that any of the three players will leave Manchester City or join Arsenal. Their futures remain speculative, and any potential transfer would depend on several factors, including contractual circumstances and the clubs' respective plans.

For now, Scholes' remarks remain hypothetical, although Doku and Cherki could attract particular interest if an opportunity to sign them ever became available.
