According to a report by Goal on Monday, October 26, 2026, Real Madrid secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Barcelona in their LaLiga El Clasico clash on Sunday.
Barcelona started the match with more possession and tried to put pressure on the visitors, but Real Madrid remained organised and looked dangerous whenever they had the opportunity to attack. The home side created some good chances through Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, although they failed to make the most of their opportunities in the opening stages.
Real Madrid eventually took the lead in the 41st minute when Kylian Mbappe found the back of the net with a left-footed finish after a mistake from Barcelona defender Gerard Martin allowed the visitors to punish their opponents. Barcelona tried to respond before the break, but Yamal missed a clear opportunity to equalise, leaving Madrid ahead at half-time.
After the restart, Barcelona continued to push forward in search of a goal, and their efforts paid off in the 61st minute when Raphinha scored with his left foot following a fine assist from Pedri. The goal brought the home supporters back into the game and gave Barcelona hope of turning the contest around.
However, Real Madrid refused to allow their rivals to take control of the match, and Mbappe restored their lead in the 88th minute with his second goal of the game after receiving a pass from Eduardo Camavinga. Barcelona tried to find another equaliser during the closing stages, but Madrid defended well and held on until the final whistle.
The victory sees Real Madrid climb to third position on the LaLiga table with 24 points, just three points behind Barcelona, who remain top with 27 points despite suffering a disappointing home defeat.
