According to a post on X on Friday, October 23, Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in Atlético Madrid's Julián Álvarez and now has an update concerning the signing of the player.
PSG are considering a move to sign the Argentinian during the January transfer window. However, at the same time, Arsenal FC is the player's current preferred destination after leaving Atlético Madrid, as he doesn't see his long-term future at the Spanish club.
During the summer transfer window, Arsenal were prepared to offer Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke as makeweights, and more than £100m, in a potential deal with Atlético Madrid—the player preferred Barcelona at the time, which contributed to the failure of this deal.
Ferran Torres, who has been great for Paris Saint-Germain this season, however, has missed several ridiculous chances; for example, in the big game against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. PSG will be left with Ousmane Dembélé if they decide not to give Ferran plenty of time on the pitch, and they could have a decent second option, or perhaps a first, in Julián Álvarez.
Arsenal's main strikers, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyökeres, have scored no goals and three goals, respectively, across all competitions for Arsenal this season—both of them have played in up to 9 games.
