According to a report by the Evening Standard on Friday, October 30, 2026, Chelsea have confirmed that Cole Palmer is available for selection ahead of their Premier League meeting with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The England international missed Wednesday's Carabao Cup encounter against Liverpool after receiving a suspension for his red card in Chelsea's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the attacking midfielder will not miss any Premier League matches as a result of the dismissal, having served his automatic one-match suspension during the Blues' fourth-round Carabao Cup tie at Anfield.
A statement published on the Premier League's official website confirmed that Palmer's suspension applied to Chelsea's domestic cup fixture rather than a Premier League match.
This means the 24-year-old is eligible to return to action when Xabi Alonso's side welcome Manchester United this weekend.
Palmer's availability represents a significant boost for Chelsea, who are hoping to end their disappointing run of results after suffering successive defeats across two competitions.
The Blues recorded their first home defeat of the season against Tottenham before being eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Liverpool following a penalty shootout loss on Wednesday night.
Palmer was absent from the matchday squad at Anfield but returned to outdoor training at Cobham alongside Valentin Barco and Marco Palestra.
While several Chelsea players who featured against Liverpool remained inside the training facility to complete their recovery programmes, Palmer was able to work on the grass as preparations continued for Saturday's encounter.
The attacking midfielder had earlier apologised to Chelsea supporters following his dismissal against Tottenham, with Alonso also confirming that he had spoken to the player about the incident.
Speaking before the Liverpool match, the Chelsea manager explained that Palmer understood his mistake and needed to avoid repeating such indiscipline in future matches.
Alonso also expressed hope that the incident would not happen again, describing the midfielder as a mature player who had made an avoidable mistake.
Palmer is now expected to be considered for an immediate return to Chelsea's starting lineup against Manchester United.
The Blues will be hoping to take advantage of his availability as they prepare to face a United side that have gone eight matches without a victory across all competitions.
