Manchester United recruitment coach Connor Tagoe has confirmed his departure from Old Trafford after spending six years working within the club’s structure.
According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Tagoe announced his exit through an emotional message on LinkedIn, reflecting on his experience at the Premier League club and thanking the people he worked with during his time there.
In his farewell message, Tagoe expressed appreciation for the opportunities he received and indicated that he was ready to move on to the next stage of his career.
“Big thanks to Manchester United for the last 6 years. My time has come to an end, it’s been a top experience,” he wrote.
He added: “Shared with some top people, and I’m grateful for every moment. Looking forward to the next part of my journey.”
Tagoe arrived at Manchester United in September 2020, combining recruitment and coaching duties while also remaining involved in his own football development projects. His departure brings an end to a six-year spell at the club.
Away from United, he established Vision Football Development Academy and has been involved in the development of several notable players, including Chelsea forward Cole Palmer and former Nigeria international Victor Moses.
Although his LinkedIn employment information reportedly continues to identify Manchester United as his current workplace, his public farewell suggests that his association with the club has officially ended.
His exit comes at a difficult time for the Red Devils, who are struggling for consistency under manager Michael Carrick. The team’s disappointing performances have increased pressure on the coaching staff following a series of damaging results.
Carrick enjoyed an impressive spell after taking over from Ruben Amorim in January, guiding United from seventh to third in the Premier League and securing qualification for the Champions League.
However, the club’s fortunes have changed considerably this season. United have managed only two victories in their opening 12 matches across all competitions, with defeats against Como and Bournemouth attracting widespread criticism.
Despite the growing uncertainty surrounding Carrick’s position, United have reportedly decided not to dismiss him immediately. The manager is expected to remain in charge for the upcoming Premier League encounter against Chelsea.
Meanwhile, club officials have reportedly considered possible replacements, with Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann among the names linked with the position.
However, there is currently no indication that Tagoe’s departure is connected to the uncertainty surrounding Carrick’s future at Old Trafford.
