According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday, October 26, 2026, Al Nassr are preparing a more lucrative contract offer for Joao Felix as they attempt to convince the Portuguese forward to remain in Saudi Arabia amid growing speculation about a possible return to Barcelona.
The 26-year-old has been an influential figure since arriving at the Saudi club, but his current agreement is scheduled to expire in the summer of 2027.
Felix has produced impressive numbers, registering 31 goals and 24 assists in 59 appearances across all competitions. His contributions have made him one of the most productive attacking players in the Saudi Pro League.
Despite his success, the former Atletico Madrid forward is reportedly interested in returning to European football, with Barcelona emerging as his preferred destination.
According to SPORT, Felix has not abandoned his ambition of playing for the Catalan giants again. He previously represented Barcelona on loan and enjoyed his time at Camp Nou under former manager Xavi Hernandez.
His positive experience in Spain has reportedly strengthened his desire to secure another opportunity with the club. Like his Portuguese compatriot Joao Cancelo, Felix would welcome a return to Barcelona if circumstances allow.
However, a potential departure from Al Nassr could prove complicated because of a special provision in his contract.
Reports indicate that the Saudi outfit have the option to extend his agreement by another two years without needing his approval. Should they activate the clause, Felix would remain at the club until 2029.
The proposed extension would also come with a significant improvement on his reported annual salary of €10 million, with Al Nassr considering additional financial benefits to secure his future.
The club reportedly have until May 2027 to exercise the option, leaving them with time to decide whether to activate the provision.
With Felix continuing to deliver outstanding performances, Al Nassr are increasingly keen to keep him, while Barcelona’s hopes of bringing the forward back to Camp Nou could depend on how the situation develops.
