WSL Table After Chelsea Won 3-1

According to a report by BBC SPORT on Sunday October 25, 2026, Chelsea Women came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace Women after an impressive second-half performance.

Molly Bartrip gave Palace the lead in the first half, but Melvine Malard scored twice after the break before Sandy Baltimore converted a late penalty to complete the comeback.

Chelsea started brightly and created several opportunities to take the lead. Maika Hamano, Malard and Sjoeke Nüsken all tested Palace goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, who made important saves to keep the visitors at bay. Lucy Bronze also threatened from a corner but headed narrowly over the crossbar.

Despite Chelsea's early dominance, Crystal Palace broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. Bartrip finished from close range following a corner, with Fuka Tsunoda providing the assist. The goal gave the hosts confidence as they looked to protect their advantage.

Palace goalkeeper Peyraud-Magnin continued to frustrate Chelsea before the interval, saving another effort from Nüsken. At the opposite end, Hannah Hampton denied Hayley Ladd, while Abbie Larkin also saw her attempt blocked. Chelsea went into half-time trailing 1-0 despite creating several promising chances.

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor responded by introducing Erin Cuthbert and Baltimore at the start of the second half. The changes helped the visitors increase their attacking pressure as they searched for an equaliser.

Their persistence paid off in the 51st minute when Malard fired home from outside the penalty area. Katie McCabe provided the assist as Chelsea restored parity and shifted the momentum in their favour.

Chelsea continued pushing forward, and Malard struck again in the 75th minute. The forward headed Baltimore's delivery into the bottom corner from close range to give the visitors a deserved lead.

Nüsken subsequently struck the post as Chelsea threatened to extend their advantage. Ellie Carpenter also came close, but her effort narrowly missed the target.

Chelsea eventually secured the victory in the 90th minute when Baltimore converted a penalty into the bottom-left corner. The spot-kick was awarded after Molly Bartrip fouled Malard inside the penalty area.

The result capped a strong comeback from Chelsea, who overturned their first-half deficit with three second-half goals to claim all three points.
