Confirmed World Cup Final Fixture After Nigeria Won 3-1

According to a report by BBC Sport on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup has been confirmed following Nigeria's outstanding 3-1 triumph over Brazil in the semi-final.

Nigeria's Flamingos are set to face Japan in the final, which will take place on Saturday, November 7, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco. The highly anticipated encounter is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm Nigerian time.

The confirmation follows Nigeria's impressive second-half display against Brazil, which secured the country's first-ever appearance in the final of the competition.

Queen Joseph gave the Flamingos the lead in the 56th minute before Awawu Bashiru doubled their advantage in the 71st minute. Bashiru struck again in the 80th minute to complete her brace and put Nigeria firmly in control with a 3-0 lead. Brazil managed to pull one goal back through Greise Kelly in the 89th minute, but the Nigerian team held on to secure a convincing 3-1 victory.

Japan booked the other place in the final after overcoming defending champions North Korea in a tense semi-final encounter. Both teams were level at 1-1 after normal time, forcing the match to a penalty shootout, where Japan emerged victorious with a 4-1 win.

The result sets up an exciting final between two nations that have demonstrated impressive quality and determination throughout the tournament.

For Nigeria, Saturday's encounter presents a historic opportunity to claim their first FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup title. The Flamingos previously reached the semi-finals in 2022, where they finished with the bronze medal, but this year's squad has surpassed that achievement by reaching the final.

Japan, meanwhile, will be equally determined to lift the trophy after eliminating the defending champions to secure their place in the decisive encounter.

Both teams will now turn their attention to Saturday's showdown, with Nigeria hoping to crown their remarkable campaign by defeating Japan and bringing the world title home from Morocco.
