Liverpool’s Dream Signing Gives the Green Light to a Blockbuster Move

According to a report by footballTransfers on Monday October 19, 2026, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Club Tijuana midfielder Gilberto Mora, one of Mexico’s most highly regarded young players.

Arsenal and Barcelona are also said to be following his progress, setting the stage for a potential contest between several major European clubs.

Mora’s rise has been remarkable. He made his first-team debut for Tijuana at just 15 and has since gained valuable experience with both his club and the Mexican national team.

The teenager has earned 13 senior caps for his country and has impressed with his performances in Liga MX. He has scored five goals in seven league appearances this season, adding to the growing attention around his development.

His displays have also earned praise from England manager Thomas Tuchel. Speaking before England’s World Cup knockout match against Mexico, Tuchel highlighted Mora’s composure and ability to perform under pressure, describing him as a talented young player who does not appear nervous on the biggest stage.

Speculation about a possible move to Liverpool intensified after a video emerged on social media. In the clip, supporters can be heard calling Mora’s name and asking whether he would join the Reds.

Mora acknowledged the fans, smiled and gave a thumbs-up before heading down the tunnel. The brief exchange does not confirm his intentions, but it has added fuel to transfer talk.

Tijuana are reportedly seeking a fee of at least €35 million to consider selling the midfielder. Liverpool are believed to be prepared to meet that valuation and could step up their efforts following Mora’s 18th birthday earlier this month.

Even if Liverpool secure his signature, Mora may need time to adjust to European football and the demands of the Premier League. A loan move could help him gain experience before competing for a regular place at Anfield.

Arsenal and Barcelona remain potential rivals, and a transfer battle could take shape in 2027. For now, Mora’s future remains uncertain, but his rapid progress has made him one of the most closely watched prospects in the market.
