Alexander Isak was among the standout performers as Liverpool claimed a 2-0 win over Brighton in their Premier League meeting on Sunday, scoring the goal that gave the hosts a comfortable advantage.
According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Liverpool made a strong start at home and took control of the contest with two goals in the opening 21 minutes.
The breakthrough arrived in the 17th minute when Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross accidentally put the ball into his own net, handing the Reds an early lead.
Liverpool quickly doubled their advantage, with Isak finding the target four minutes later. The Swedish forward finished from close range after Bradley Barcola provided an assist, allowing him to tap the ball into an unguarded net.
Isak had threatened shortly before scoring, creating room for a shot near the edge of the penalty area in the 20th minute. However, his attempt went comfortably over the crossbar. He made amends almost immediately by taking advantage of Barcola’s delivery to put Liverpool two goals ahead.
The Reds showed good attacking understanding during the first half, using quick combinations and intelligent movement to trouble Brighton’s defence. Isak’s positioning inside the box was particularly effective as Liverpool made the most of their early opportunities.
Brighton attempted to get back into the match after the break, but Liverpool remained disciplined and prevented the visitors from finding a route back into the contest.
Isak continued to lead the attack until the 77th minute, when he made way for Lewis Koumas. Neither side managed to score again, allowing Liverpool to see out the victory and collect all three points.
The striker’s contribution was crucial to the result, with his goal giving Liverpool a two-goal cushion and his movement causing problems for Brighton throughout his time on the pitch.
