Manchester United Attacker Officially Returns After 390 Days

According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Manchester United Women's attacker Celin Bizet Donnum has made her long-awaited return to competitive football after spending 390 days away from action following her pregnancy and recovery.

The Norwegian international reached an important milestone on Wednesday when she featured in Manchester United Women's Subway Women's Players Cup encounter against Burnley, bringing an end to an absence that lasted more than a year.

Bizet Donnum was introduced in the 61st minute, replacing Manchester United captain Maya Le Tissier. Her appearance marked her first competitive outing since October 3, 2025, when she featured for 14 minutes against Chelsea.

The 25-year-old had temporarily stepped away from professional football after becoming pregnant. She subsequently welcomed her first child in June 2026 before beginning preparations for her return to the pitch.

After spending several months away from competitive action, the forward resumed training with her Manchester United teammates in September as she worked towards regaining her fitness.

Before Wednesday's encounter, Bizet Donnum had expressed her happiness about returning to football through an emotional message on Instagram, reflecting on the significance of the occasion.

Manchester United had also provided indications that the Norwegian attacker could make her comeback against Burnley, raising expectations among supporters who had been waiting to see her back in action.

Her return coincided with an impressive performance from Manchester United Women, who secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Burnley.

German international Lea Schuller played an important role in the result by scoring twice, while Ellen Wangerheim also found the back of the net to complete the victory.

Although Bizet Donnum did not score during her appearance, her involvement represented an encouraging development for the club as she continued her journey towards full competitive fitness.

The Norwegian joined Manchester United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2024 and established herself as a valuable attacking option before taking her extended break.

During her time with the Red Devils, she has registered seven goals and eight assists in 37 appearances, demonstrating her ability to contribute both as a goalscorer and a creative player.

Her pace, attacking movement and versatility have previously provided Manchester United with additional options in the final third.

Following such a lengthy absence, the club will likely manage her playing time carefully as she gradually rebuilds her sharpness and confidence.

For Bizet Donnum, Wednesday's appearance was about more than simply returning to the football pitch. It represented the successful completion of an important stage in her personal and professional journey.

Manchester United supporters will now be hoping that the Norwegian international can remain fit and gradually rediscover the form that made her an important member of the team's attacking department.

Her comeback after 390 days away from competitive football provides a positive development for Manchester United Women as they continue their campaign.
