AEK VS RMA: Real Madrid Official Starting Line-up Against AEK Athens

According to a report by Madrid Universal on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Real Madrid are determined to extend their winning run in the UEFA Champions League when they travel to Greece to face AEK Athens. The Spanish side have enjoyed an excellent start to their European campaign, winning all three of their opening matches against Inter Milan, AS Roma and RB Leipzig. They will now be targeting another victory to make it four consecutive wins in the competition.

Ahead of the important encounter, manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed his starting lineup, with Brazilian defender Eder Militao among the notable selections. The centre-back is set to make his first start of the campaign after spending more than six months recovering from a serious injury. He recently returned to action during Madrid's match against Sevilla in October and will now partner Antonio Rudiger in central defence.

Militao's inclusion means Ibrahima Konate and Dean Huijsen have been left out of the starting eleven. Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries has been selected at right-back, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Marc Cucurella continues at left-back. Thibaut Courtois retains his place between the posts as Madrid prepare for another challenging European test.

In midfield, Eduardo Camavinga has been handed a starting opportunity, replacing fellow French international Aurelien Tchouameni, who has been rested for the fixture. Camavinga is expected to operate alongside Bernardo Silva in the double pivot, while Federico Valverde misses out on a starting role following his recent return from a minor injury.

Vinicius Junior is another important player returning to Mourinho's starting lineup. Although the Brazilian is serving a four-match suspension in domestic competitions, that punishment does not extend to European fixtures, making him available for the Champions League encounter. He will occupy his usual position on the left wing.

Youngster Yan Diomande has been selected on the opposite flank after impressing with his recent performances, giving Madrid additional attacking quality and pace.

Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe complete the attacking selection, providing Mourinho with considerable firepower ahead of the contest.

Real Madrid will hope their experienced players and returning stars can deliver another convincing performance against AEK Athens and preserve their unbeaten start to this season's Champions League campaign.
