According to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Monday, October 26, 2026, Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has expressed confidence that he will eventually win the Ballon d’Or after missing out on the prestigious individual award at the 2026 ceremony.

The 19-year-old took to social media to share a message of determination, making it clear that he is not discouraged by the outcome and remains focused on achieving his ambitions with Barcelona.

Yamal stressed that he is willing to be patient, believing that his opportunity to claim football’s biggest individual honour will eventually arrive.

“IT WILL COME. Good things take time, and I trust the path I’m building. No rush, just excitement and the peace of mind knowing that one day my moment will come,” he wrote.

The Spanish international also congratulated the players who received recognition at the ceremony, showing respect for their achievements while maintaining his belief in his own potential.

He further emphasised that his immediate priority is contributing to Barcelona’s success, adding: “My focus now returns to what truly matters: helping FC Barcelona win again.”

Yamal has enjoyed a remarkable rise since breaking into Barcelona’s first team. His exceptional dribbling, creativity, technical ability and attacking intelligence have established him as one of the most exciting young players in European football.

Despite his age, the winger has already become an influential figure for both Barcelona and Spain. His performances have also strengthened expectations that he could become a serious contender for the Ballon d’Or in the coming years.

However, his latest comments suggest that he understands the importance of consistency, team achievements and continued development in his pursuit of individual recognition.

His statement comes shortly after Barcelona suffered a 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid in El Clásico on October 25, 2026. The setback will increase pressure on the Catalan side to respond positively as they attempt to maintain their challenge for major trophies.

For Yamal, the priority will be helping Barcelona return to winning ways rather than dwelling on individual awards. His confidence suggests that he remains determined to improve and believes that personal success will eventually follow his contributions on the pitch.

At just 19, the Barcelona youngster has plenty of time to pursue his ambitions, and his latest message indicates that missing out on the 2026 Ballon d’Or has not weakened his determination to reach the top of world football.
