EPL Table After Manchester United Lost 3-0

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Bournemouth delivered an outstanding performance at Old Trafford, defeating Manchester United 3-0 after taking advantage of defensive errors and creating several dangerous opportunities throughout the match.

Bournemouth made an energetic start and immediately put pressure on the home side. Rayan missed an excellent opportunity in the fifth minute when he headed wide from a corner despite being unmarked in the penalty area. The visitors continued to threaten, with Marcus Tavernier forcing Senne Lammens to make a save from a shot taken near the edge of the box.

Manchester United attempted to control proceedings through their passing, but Bournemouth remained dangerous on the counterattack. Diogo Dalot failed to keep his effort down after finding space inside the penalty area, while Bryan Mbeumo later tested Djordje Petrovic with a low shot that required an impressive save.

Bournemouth eventually broke the deadlock in the 38th minute through Rayan. Justin Kluivert delivered a free-kick into the penalty area, and the Brazilian attacker took advantage of United's defensive weakness to fire the ball into the bottom-left corner.

The visitors increased their lead just five minutes later after another defensive mistake from Manchester United. Tavernier capitalised on the opportunity in the 43rd minute, calmly finishing from close range to put Bournemouth firmly in control before the interval. United struggled to recover, with Carlos Baleba narrowly missing an opportunity to extend the visitors' advantage before half-time.

Michael Carrick introduced Matheus Cunha at the beginning of the second half, hoping to improve United's attacking performance. However, Bournemouth continued to threaten, and Lammens produced an excellent save to prevent Rayan from scoring again shortly after the restart.

Manchester United created opportunities through Mbeumo and Cunha but failed to convert them into goals. Their difficult afternoon worsened in the 71st minute when Evanilson punished another defensive lapse, producing a composed finish from the edge of the penalty area to make it 3-0.

Carrick introduced additional substitutes in an attempt to change the outcome, but Bournemouth remained disciplined and organised at the back. Leny Yoro missed a late headed chance as United's frustration continued.

Bournemouth comfortably maintained their advantage until the final whistle, securing an impressive away victory. Meanwhile, Manchester United were left disappointed after a performance marked by defensive mistakes, missed opportunities and an inability to respond effectively to their opponents.
