According to a report by Daily Post on Friday, October 23, 2026, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is reportedly seeking a loan move away from Bayer Leverkusen when the January transfer window opens, having struggled to secure regular playing time this season.
The 24-year-old forward has reportedly informed his representatives of his desire to leave the German club in search of more opportunities to play and rebuild his confidence.
Boniface has made just a five-minute appearance for Leverkusen this season, highlighting his difficulties in establishing himself in the team’s plans.
The Nigerian international previously spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, where he had the opportunity to continue his career in the Bundesliga. He could now seek another temporary move in January in an attempt to revive his campaign.
Leverkusen are reportedly willing to consider his departure, with both a loan deal and a permanent transfer understood to be possible options.
However, Boniface remains under contract with the German club until June 2029, meaning any transfer will depend on negotiations between Leverkusen and interested clubs.
A move away from the BayArena could give the striker the opportunity to secure more playing time, regain his sharpness and demonstrate his qualities on a regular basis.
Despite the reported interest in leaving, no potential destination has been confirmed, and the situation remains subject to developments ahead of the January transfer window.
Boniface will be hoping to find a suitable club where he can rediscover his form and get his career back on track after a difficult spell with limited opportunities at Leverkusen.
