Latest EPL Table After Manchester United's 3-0 Loss To Bournemouth

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Manchester United suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in the Premier League, intensifying pressure on manager Michael Carrick.

The result reportedly extended United’s winless run across all competitions to eight matches and marked their third defeat in four home games. Bournemouth, meanwhile, continued their impressive form by recording a fourth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Before kick-off, Carrick made a notable selection decision by leaving captain Bruno Fernandes on the bench following United’s disappointing midweek defeat in Como. However, the change failed to produce the desired improvement as Bournemouth controlled important periods of the contest.

The visitors started positively, with Rayan heading an early opportunity wide of the far post inside the opening three minutes. Although clear chances were initially limited, Bournemouth gradually grew into the game and eventually broke the deadlock.

Justin Kluivert delivered a free-kick into the penalty area after Ayden Heaven committed a foul. Rayan found space at the far post and volleyed home unmarked to give Bournemouth the lead.

Manchester United attempted to respond, with Bryan Mbeumo testing Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. However, the goalkeeper produced the necessary intervention to prevent the hosts from finding an equaliser.

United’s problems deepened before half-time when a defensive mistake by Leny Yoro gave Bournemouth another opportunity. Adrien Truffert capitalised on the error before setting up Marcus Tavernier, who calmly finished into an empty net to make it 2-0.

The home supporters responded with boos at half-time as frustration grew over United’s performance. Carrick consequently faced increasing pressure to find a way back into the contest.

Fernandes remained on the bench when the second half began, with Carrick introducing Matheus Cunha instead. Bournemouth briefly celebrated a third goal through Evanilson within the opening 30 seconds, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

Rayan subsequently missed two promising opportunities to extend Bournemouth’s advantage, giving United a brief opportunity to recover. However, the visitors eventually secured their third goal through Evanilson.

Lewis Cook played a long ball forward, and confusion between United’s centre-backs allowed the Brazilian striker to break through the defence. Evanilson rounded goalkeeper Senne Lammens before finishing from a tight angle to complete Bournemouth’s convincing victory.

The result also extended Bournemouth’s remarkable scoring record at Old Trafford, where they have reportedly scored at least three goals in four consecutive visits.

For Manchester United, the defeat raises further questions about their defensive organisation, team selection and ability to respond to difficult situations as pressure continues to build on Carrick.
