According to a report by Fabrizio romano on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain have received widespread praise from Spanish media outlets following their impressive performance against Barcelona, with several newspapers highlighting the French club’s quality, experience and growing reputation in European football.

The reigning European champions attracted significant attention after their display against the Catalan giants, prompting some of Spain’s leading sports publications to acknowledge PSG’s strength and their status among the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League.

Spanish newspaper Marca praised the Parisian side, declaring that “the champions are on another level.” The assessment reflected the impression PSG made with their performance and the difficulty Barcelona faced in matching their opponents.

Europa Press also highlighted the French club’s European pedigree, suggesting that PSG had reminded Barcelona why they remain among the leading forces in continental football. The publication described them as the “kings of Europe,” underlining the respect they have earned through their recent achievements.

Meanwhile, AS stressed that PSG remain firmly in control, while Mundo Deportivo acknowledged Barcelona’s struggles against the European champions. The Catalan publication described the encounter as a difficult outing for Barcelona and admitted that the Spanish side had been clearly outplayed in a match that produced plenty of excitement.

The reaction from Spanish media outlets demonstrates the growing recognition of PSG’s strength and their ability to compete at the highest level. Their performances have strengthened the belief that the French giants possess the quality and confidence required to challenge for another major European honour.

Cadena SER also identified PSG as the leading favourites to win the Champions League, praising their dominance and suggesting that another title could further cement their place among Europe’s elite clubs.

However, winning the competition again would require PSG to maintain their consistency throughout the remaining stages of the tournament. Barcelona, meanwhile, will need to learn from the defeat and improve their performances as they continue their European campaign.

The praise from Spain’s media is a significant endorsement of PSG’s current standing in European football. Nevertheless, the ultimate test will be whether the Parisian side can turn their impressive performances into another Champions League triumph.
