‘There’s still a lot of time left’ — Barcelona loanee breaks silence on his Liverpool future

According to a report by Barca Universal on Sunday November 1, 2026, Barcelona loanee Ronald Araujo has refused to make any commitments about his long-term future at Liverpool, insisting that there is still plenty of time before a decision is made.

The Uruguayan defender joined Liverpool on a season-long loan from Barcelona during the summer, with the Premier League club reportedly having an option to sign him permanently for around £47 million.

Araujo has made an impressive start to life at Anfield, quickly becoming a popular figure among Liverpool supporters following his performances for the team.

His form has also sparked discussions about whether Liverpool will look to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

However, speaking in an interview with Sky Sports Premier League, the 27-year-old remained cautious when asked about his future.

“I'm grateful for the love from the people, very grateful. Truly, thank you!” Araujo said, acknowledging the support he has received from Liverpool fans.

He added: “There's still a lot of time left. I can't speak about the future if I don't know what will happen when they make the decision, because there are a lot of months left.”

The defender made it clear that his immediate priority is helping Liverpool achieve success rather than focusing on what happens beyond the current campaign.

Araujo also expressed confidence in Liverpool's squad, praising the mixture of experienced players and young talents at the club.

The former Barcelona captain has been deployed at right-back by manager Andoni Iraola and has impressed with his performances in the position.

He scored against Villarreal in the Champions League, celebrating the goal by running towards the supporters, while his displays against Brighton and Chelsea earned him Man of the Match awards.

His growing influence at Liverpool could strengthen the club's interest in keeping him beyond his loan spell.

For now, however, Araujo is concentrating on his performances and has made it clear that he will leave discussions about his future until the appropriate time.
