According to a report by Barca Universal on Monday November 2, 2026, to make room for new players, Barcelona is allegedly willing to sell Jules Kounde. Chelsea is reportedly interested in the defender, and Pedro Porro of Tottenham has emerged as a possible replacement.
The Frenchman's future at Camp Nou is looking less certain, and Bayern Munich has also shown interest.
As per SPORT, Chelsea has reportedly already initiated contact and is currently evaluating the necessary financial factors to finalize a transaction. The amount Barcelona demands will determine whether there is a transfer or not, and their interest has not yet materialized into an official offer.
Due to changes in the club's defensive options, Kounde's position has grown increasingly precarious. Academy product Xavi Espart is vying for playing time alongside Eric Garcia, who has been seeing more action at right back. There is now even more unpredictability due to Barcelona's interest in other defensive players.
Due to an injury, the 27-year-old has only started five games across all competitions this season. Despite having a contract that extends until 2030, numerous prominent European clubs have expressed interest in reducing his role.
If Barcelona wants to raise capital for other priorities, like a new center-back, they could see his departure as a chance to do so. Even so, Kounde is still very much in the club's plans, and he has a chance to prove himself worthy of a starting role again.
Reportedly, Pedro Porro is one of the players Barcelona could look at if the Frenchman decides to leave. The Tottenham defender has expressed a desire to return to Spanish football and has recently extended his contract until 2031.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have both expressed interest in Porro, and rumor has it that president Joan Laporta thinks highly of him. But Barcelona may have a hard time striking a deal with Tottenham because they are reportedly looking for over €60 million for the 27-year-old.
