According to a report by Football London on Monday, 2 November 2026, Chelsea are prepared to keep Estevao Willian at Stamford Bridge beyond the January transfer window after his impressive performance in the 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
The Brazilian winger was handed his first Premier League start of the season by Xabi Alonso and responded with an impressive display at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Operating from the right flank, Estevao caused Manchester United problems throughout the match, with Diogo Dalot struggling to contain his attacking threat.
The 19-year-old also had two goals ruled out for offside. His second effort was particularly unfortunate, with VAR replays reportedly showing that he was seven centimetres offside after finding the top corner with an excellent finish.
His performance came after growing frustration over his limited opportunities under Alonso.
The youngster had previously been left out of the starting line-up for several matches, including Chelsea's Carabao Cup meeting with Liverpool.
However, his display against Manchester United appears to have strengthened his position at the club.
The Chelsea Chronicle reports that the possibility of Estevao leaving during the January transfer window is now off the table.
Spanish newspaper AS has also reported that Chelsea are considering offering the former Palmeiras star a significant pay rise.
The proposed improvement to his contract would reflect the club's confidence in his long-term potential and their intention to keep him at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso also made a point of showing his support for the winger during Saturday's victory.
With Chelsea comfortably ahead, the manager substituted Estevao in the 87th minute and embraced him as he left the pitch.
The gesture came after the Spanish coach acknowledged that the youngster had not been entirely satisfied with his playing time.
Chelsea now face an important decision over how best to use the Brazilian as they prepare for their next Premier League fixture against Sunderland.
With his performance against Manchester United demonstrating what he can offer in the starting XI, Estevao has strengthened his case for regular involvement.
