Queen Joseph Reacts as Flamingos Become First African Team to Reach U-17 WWC Final

According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, November 5, 2026, after the Flamingos achieved a historic feat in securing a spot in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco, Queen Joseph, a Nigerian forward, expressed her pride.

The youthful Nigerian star was a key cog in the Flamingos' 3-1 semi-final victory over Brazil on Wednesday, advancing them to Saturday's Rabat final.

Nigeria advanced to the championship match thanks to a dominant performance that included goals from Joseph and Awawu Bashiru in their victory over their South American opponents.

As the first African team to ever make it to the finals of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, the Flamingos' triumph was also a huge deal for African football.

Joseph, speaking after the match, was pleased with the team's performance and said that making it to the final was a historic moment for her and her teammates.

Knowing how important it was for the players to qualify for Nigerian and African football, the forward expressed her immense pride in their accomplishment.

The players were not only representing Nigeria, but the hopes of the entire African continent, Joseph added, highlighting that the team's duty went beyond mere representation.

Because they made history as the first African nation to reach the final of the competition, she insisted, their accomplishment was monumental.

The significance of the event was highlighted by the remarks of the young Nigerian, especially after the team recovered from a rough start to the season.

There was cause for concern regarding Nigeria's chances of advancing to the later stages of the tournament following their opening group match 2-1 loss to Poland.

Despite that setback, the Flamingos bounced back and went on to win crucial games to move on in the competition.

They are now one win away from becoming world champions after their remarkable 3-1 semi-final victory over Brazil.

In Saturday's final in Rabat, the two teams from Japan and Nigeria will square off for the chance to win the trophy.
