According to a report by Madrid Universal on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, Liverpool are reportedly preparing a €100 million offer for Real Madrid captain Federico Valverde as they explore the possibility of strengthening their midfield ahead of a potential transfer move.

The Uruguay international has attracted attention from the Premier League club because of his outstanding performances, versatility and ability to operate in different positions. However, Real Madrid are reportedly unwilling to consider his departure, as they regard him as one of the most important members of their squad.

Liverpool’s interest in Valverde is believed to be connected to uncertainty surrounding Alexis Mac Allister’s future at Anfield. The Argentine midfielder has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid, raising concerns about the possibility of losing an important figure in Liverpool’s midfield. Should Mac Allister leave, the English club may need an experienced replacement capable of maintaining the team's quality, energy and competitive strength.

Valverde has emerged as an attractive candidate because of his ability to influence matches from several positions. Although he has recently been deployed in defence at the Santiago Bernabeu, Liverpool reportedly admire his natural midfield qualities, physical strength, work rate and tactical intelligence.

The report suggests that Liverpool are considering an offer worth approximately €100 million in an attempt to convince Real Madrid to negotiate. Nevertheless, securing his signature would be extremely difficult because of his importance to the Spanish giants.

Valverde’s responsibilities have also evolved under Jose Mourinho, who has increasingly relied on the 27-year-old as his preferred right-back. The Portuguese manager appreciates his defensive contribution, attacking ability and exceptional physical qualities.

Despite his recent deployment in defence, Valverde remains an important midfield option and can return to his natural position whenever the team requires his services. His ability to adapt to different tactical demands has further strengthened his importance.

Real Madrid consider the Uruguayan captain a fundamental part of their long-term plans under Mourinho. His leadership, consistency and versatility make him particularly valuable to the club.

Consequently, Liverpool could face significant resistance if they formally approach Real Madrid. Despite the reported €100 million interest, the Spanish club have no intention of negotiating the departure of their captain, making a potential transfer increasingly unlikely.
