According to a report by London Evening Standard on Monday November 2, 2026, Manchester United face another defensive concern ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League meeting with Roma after Leny Yoro was spotted wearing protective strapping around his knee during training.
Michael Carrick’s side welcome the Italian visitors while attempting to end their nine-match winless run. Pressure has increased following three consecutive defeats, including disappointing losses against Como, Bournemouth and Chelsea.
United currently sit 20th in the European competition standings, having won once and lost their previous two matches against Atletico Madrid and Como. However, Patrick Dorgu’s return to training provided encouragement.
The Danish defender had been sidelined since September after suffering a hamstring injury during international duty. His comeback offers Carrick valuable assistance, particularly because United have limited experienced options at left-back.
However, supporters noticed Yoro wearing knee strapping during training, raising concerns about his fitness before the important European fixture. Despite the protective covering, he appeared comfortable participating in several exercises.
The French defender has recently operated at right-back, allowing Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui to occupy left-back. He maintained that position against Chelsea, completing ninety minutes despite United’s disappointing defeat.
Carrick could consider returning Yoro to central defence while reshuffling his defensive options. Lisandro Martinez is available again after serving his suspension, although another suspension will rule him out against Aston Villa.
