LIV 6-5 CHE: The Best And Worst Players From Chelsea's Defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup

According to a report by Football London on Wednesday October 28, 2026, Chelsea have been eliminated from the Carabao Cup after losing to Liverpool on penalties following a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The Blues took the lead in the first half when Morgan Rogers converted a penalty after Ryan Gravenberch fouled Moises Caicedo. However, Liverpool responded through Cody Gakpo, who scored from the spot after Wesley Fofana handled the ball.

Both teams created opportunities in the second half, but neither could find a winner, forcing the tie into a penalty shootout. Chelsea eventually suffered a heartbreaking defeat after Fofana sent his spot-kick over the crossbar.

The Best Players

Mike Penders was one of Chelsea's standout performers, earning a rating of 7/10. The goalkeeper made several important saves and also performed well during the penalty shootout.

Josh Acheampong also impressed, receiving 7/10 for his efforts against Liverpool's dangerous attack. The young defender improved considerably in the second half, contributing both defensively and offensively.

Substitute Emmanuel Emegha earned 7/10 after making his debut for Chelsea. He looked lively following his introduction and provided a positive moment for the Blues despite their elimination.

Morgan Rogers also had some encouraging moments, scoring Chelsea's only goal from the penalty spot. However, his overall performance was inconsistent, as he struggled to influence the game for long periods.

The Worst Players

Malo Gusto endured a difficult evening at Anfield and received the lowest rating of 3/10. The defender was wasteful in possession, gave away a needless corner and struggled physically against Liverpool's players.

Wesley Fofana was another major disappointment, receiving 4/10. His handball gifted Liverpool a penalty, while his failure to convert his spot-kick proved costly as Chelsea crashed out of the competition.

Pedro Neto and Jordan Henderson both received 5/10. Neto struggled to make the most of attacking opportunities, while Henderson worked hard but failed to produce a particularly influential performance.
