According to a report by Football London on Monday October 26, 2026, Chelsea’s reported interest in Club Brugge striker Nicolas Tresoldi has gained attention after the £42 million-rated forward scored an impressive hat-trick, strengthening his reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking prospects.
Reports last week suggested that Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso had sent scouts to watch the striker during the weekend. Tresoldi responded with an outstanding performance, delivering three goals in Brugge’s victory over Sint-Truiden.
Chelsea’s need for another centre-forward has become increasingly apparent following their recent defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. Alonso selected Morgan Rogers to lead the attack, but the decision failed to produce the desired outcome.
Danny Welbeck entered the match as a substitute, while Emmanuel Emegha remains sidelined through injury. With Joao Pedro unavailable, Chelsea’s limited attacking options became more noticeable, particularly as former striker Nicolas Jackson continues performing impressively at Aston Villa.
According to TeamTalk, Chelsea representatives were present to monitor Tresoldi during Club Brugge’s 3-2 win over Sint-Truiden. The 22-year-old German-Italian eligible forward scored all three goals, taking his season’s tally to 12 goals in 14 appearances across competitions.
Tresoldi has also demonstrated his scoring ability in European competition, registering a hat-trick against Inter Milan in the Champions League. His performances suggest that he could offer Chelsea another dependable option in the final third.
Since joining Brugge from Hannover in 2025, Tresoldi has reportedly scored 35 goals in 72 appearances. He found the net 23 times during his first season, establishing himself as an important attacking figure for the Belgian club.
LiveScore reports that Brugge are now seeking approximately €50 million, equivalent to £42 million, for the striker. Their reported asking price has increased from €35 million, or around £29 million, earlier this summer.
Chelsea are not alone in pursuing his signature. Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have also been linked with the forward, suggesting competition could intensify.
If Alonso remains unconvinced by Welbeck as a regular starter and Emegha continues recovering, Chelsea may need to strengthen their striking department. Tresoldi could provide greater depth and help narrow the quality gap between Pedro and the club’s alternative options.
Although adapting to the Premier League would present a significant challenge, Tresoldi’s performances in domestic football and the Champions League have strengthened his credentials. Chelsea must now decide whether to pursue the in-form striker amid growing interest.
