According to a report by Madrid Universal on Thursday October 29, 2026, Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on former academy defender Jacobo Ramon following his impressive performances for Como, with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea also reportedly interested in signing him.
According to Madrid Universal, citing AS, the young centre-back has attracted attention with his consistent displays in Italy, where he has established himself as an important player under manager Cesc Fabregas.
Ramon has developed into a key figure for Como, featuring regularly in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. His progress has reportedly placed him on the radar of several clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal and Chelsea are among the teams said to be interested in securing his services in June 2027. Both clubs reportedly attempted to sign him last summer but were unsuccessful and are now keen to revisit the possibility of a transfer.
However, Real Madrid could have an advantage in the race for the defender. The Spanish giants reportedly hold buy-back options for the summers of 2026 and 2027, giving them the opportunity to bring their former academy graduate back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Madrid are said to be impressed by Ramon’s development and view him as a potential long-term solution to their defensive needs.
Antonio Rudiger is approaching the latter stages of his time at the club, while Eder Militao’s recurring injury problems have raised questions about his long-term availability. Although Ibrahima Konate and Dean Huijsen are also part of the defensive setup, Ramon could provide another option for the future.
The defender’s rise has also attracted attention at international level. Having impressed with Spain’s under-21 team, he is reportedly pushing for an opportunity to make his senior debut under national team coach Luis de la Fuente.
A call-up to the senior Spain squad could further strengthen his reputation and influence Real Madrid’s decision on whether to bring him back.
Ramon’s market value has reportedly increased from €6 million to €45 million in a year, reflecting his rapid progress and growing demand.
With Arsenal and Chelsea monitoring his situation, Real Madrid will have to consider their options carefully if they want to prevent another club from securing the services of their former academy talent.
