Messi remains one of the most decorated players in Ballon d’Or history, having won the prestigious individual honour eight times. His achievements over the years have cemented his place among football’s greatest players, with his consistency, creativity, goal-scoring ability and influence on the game setting him apart.

The Argentine captain has enjoyed an extraordinary career at both club and international levels.
