I Want To Thank My Lord And Savior, Jesus Christ, The Glory Is His –Madueke Expresses Gratitude

According to a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Sunday, October 18, 2026, Noni Madueke praised Arsenal’s fighting spirit after the Gunners secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The England international scored the decisive goal at the City Ground, helping Arsenal claim three points from a difficult away fixture. His second-half strike broke Forest’s resistance after the visitors struggled to create clear opportunities for much of the contest.

Madueke, who entered the match at half-time, made the difference in the 80th minute. He received a pass from Declan Rice, moved inside and unleashed a shot that deflected off Forest defender Jair Cunha before beating goalkeeper Matz Sels.

The goal proved decisive in a match where Arsenal’s attacking play lacked its usual sharpness. According to Sky Sports’ match report, Madueke’s effort was the Gunners’ only shot on target throughout the game, underlining how difficult they found it to break down the home side’s defence.

Following the victory, Madueke first expressed gratitude to Jesus Christ before acknowledging the collective effort required to win at a challenging venue.

"First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; the glory is His," Madueke said.

He then highlighted the difficulty of the encounter and credited the team’s unity for the result.

"This place is so hard to come to; we did it together. We showed a champion's spirit here tonight," he added.

Arsenal’s win also required defensive discipline as Nottingham Forest searched for an equaliser late in the game. Forest created opportunities to threaten the visitors, but Arsenal held on to preserve their clean sheet and secure the narrow victory.

Madueke’s contribution was particularly important because he had started the match on the bench. His introduction gave Arsenal another attacking option, and his goal ultimately separated the sides.

The result provided Arsenal with three valuable points as they continued their Premier League campaign. Madueke’s post-match message reflected the importance of collective determination, faith and composure in securing a hard-fought away win.
