Erling Haaland Injury Update Emerges After Man City Win As Arsenal Chase Title

Manchester City have been handed a potential injury concern involving Erling Haaland after the striker was seen limping following their 3-2 Premier League victory over Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium.

According to a report by Football London on Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Norwegian forward appeared to be experiencing discomfort after scoring twice in the encounter, raising concerns about his availability for Manchester City’s upcoming matches.

Haaland continued his impressive start to the campaign by taking his goal tally to 12 across all competitions. However, his condition after the final whistle became a concern for manager Enzo Maresca and the club’s supporters.

The striker reportedly sustained a knock to his foot during the closing stages of the match, although Maresca remained optimistic that the problem was not serious.

Speaking after the game, the City manager revealed that he had spoken to Haaland about the issue and received a reassuring response from the forward.

Maresca also disclosed that several other players experienced physical problems towards the end of the contest, including Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic, Antoine Semenyo and Nico O’Reilly.

The manager explained that the cluster of late knocks had affected multiple members of his squad, adding that the players would need to be assessed before their conditions could be determined.

Manchester City will closely monitor Haaland’s fitness, given his importance to their attacking strength and ambitions of winning another Premier League title. Any prolonged absence would represent a significant setback for the reigning challengers.

City’s victory moved them six points ahead of Arsenal, although they had played one additional match. Mikel Arteta’s side could reduce the deficit to four points by defeating Nottingham Forest.

Arteta, meanwhile, has expressed satisfaction with Arsenal’s recent response, insisting that his players are concentrating on their next challenge rather than becoming distracted by the developing title race.

The Arsenal manager highlighted the team’s improved performances and results in their previous two matches, while acknowledging that the meeting with Forest would present another difficult test.

He also defended his side’s attacking approach, emphasising the importance of developing different methods of scoring goals as Arsenal seek to maintain their momentum in the Premier League.

With Haaland’s condition still requiring assessment, Manchester City will hope their leading scorer avoids a serious injury as the battle for the league title continues.
