According to Daily Post, published on November 3, 2026, Al-Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou has responded after his team scored six goals in a 6-2 victory over Pakhtakor without Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Saudi Arabian club secured the convincing win in their AFC Champions League Elite meeting with the Uzbek side on Monday, November 2. Ronaldo was not included in the squad for the encounter, despite scoring a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s previous Saudi Pro League match against Al-Kholood.

Postecoglou played down suggestions that his team were more effective in attack without the Portuguese forward. He instead focused on the performance of the players who featured in the match.

Speaking after the game, the Australian manager said: “Cris played the last game and we scored five goals. If Cris plays, doesn’t play, what is the most important is the players who played today performed at a very strong level.”

His comments came after Al-Nassr produced an impressive attacking display in Tashkent. Abdullah Al-Hamdan opened the scoring in the 15th minute, while João Félix added two goals in the 17th and 32nd minutes to give the visitors a commanding lead.

Pakhtakor pulled one goal back through Flamarion before the break, but Al-Nassr continued to find the net in the second half. Abdulelah Al-Amri and Abdulrahman Ghareeb extended the advantage, while Dostonbek Khamdamov scored another for the home side.

Ângelo completed the scoring in the 79th minute to seal the 6-2 result for the Saudi club.

The victory showed that Al-Nassr could produce a strong attacking performance even with their captain absent. However, Postecoglou made it clear that his attention was on the contribution of the players who took part, rather than comparisons involving Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s absence did not prevent Al-Nassr from securing an emphatic result in the continental competition.
