According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 20, 2026, former Barcelona defender Sylvinho has expressed his admiration for Lamine Yamal, describing the teenager’s remarkable development as something extraordinary as the young attacker continues to impress for the Catalan giants.

Lamine has established himself as one of Barcelona’s most influential attacking players, attracting widespread praise for his technical ability, creativity and growing maturity. His performances have continued to demonstrate why he is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in world football.

Speaking to Radio MARCA’s La Tribu, Sylvinho admitted that the teenager’s progress has exceeded expectations, highlighting the qualities that separate him from other players.

“What he is doing is not normal. These types of players are different, very different,” the former Barcelona defender said.

Sylvinho also pointed to Lamine’s improving understanding of the game, explaining that the youngster is becoming more experienced and making better decisions on the pitch.

“He is gaining experience, he knows where he needs to go and where he shouldn’t. He keeps growing,” he added.

The Brazilian’s comments underline how Lamine’s development extends beyond his ability to dribble past opponents and create scoring opportunities. His decision-making, movement and understanding of different attacking situations are becoming increasingly important aspects of his game.

Under Hansi Flick, the Spanish international has continued to develop his attacking influence, operating in different areas and contributing to Barcelona’s efforts in the final third.

Sylvinho also praised Flick’s attacking philosophy, describing Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain as two formidable teams ahead of their Champions League meeting. He suggested that the quality of both sides could make the encounter comparable to a potential final.

Barcelona will hope Lamine can make a significant impact against the French champions, with his creativity and ability to unlock defensive lines likely to be valuable.
