LaLiga Table After Real Madrid Beat Barcelona 2-1

According to a report by BBC SPORT on Sunday October 25, 2026, Real Madrid secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Barcelona in El Clasico, with Kylian Mbappe scoring twice to put his team ahead before Raphinha briefly restored parity for the Catalan giants.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the first half before Barcelona fought back after the break. However, the French forward struck again late in the match to give Madrid the advantage and leave their rivals searching for another equaliser.

The encounter started with both teams looking to establish control, but Real Madrid created several promising opportunities through their attacking players. Arda Guler tested Barcelona's defence early, while Anthony Gordon forced Andriy Lunin into a comfortable save at the other end. Both sides continued to threaten, although neither could find the breakthrough during the opening stages.

Barcelona came close through Raphinha, who sent an effort narrowly wide before producing another attempt that flew over the crossbar. Anthony Gordon also missed a promising opportunity after Lunin made an important save. Madrid eventually took the lead in the 41st minute when Mbappe capitalised on a loose ball inside the penalty area and fired into the bottom corner.

Barcelona attempted to respond before halftime, but Lunin denied Rodri while Lamine Yamal missed a significant opportunity from close range. Madrid therefore went into the interval with a 1-0 advantage.

The hosts returned with greater attacking intent and eventually equalised in the 61st minute. Raphinha collected a short pass from Pedri inside the box, moved past his marker and unleashed a powerful shot into the left corner.

Barcelona continued pushing forward, with Gerard Martin forcing Lunin into an excellent save from a header. Yamal also threatened, but Madrid's defence repeatedly blocked his efforts.

Madrid regained the lead in the 88th minute when Mbappe finished from close range after receiving a pass from Eduardo Camavinga. Barcelona had five minutes of added time to find another equaliser, but Madrid held firm to secure a memorable El Clasico victory.
