According to a report by Manchesterevening News on Saturday October 24, 2026, as the January transfer window draws near, Joaquin Seys has addressed rumors linking him to Manchester United. He has reiterated that staying with Club Brugge is his top priority, rather than considering a move to the Premier League.
It was reported that Manchester United had interest in signing the Belgian left back during the summer transfer window, but the club ultimately opted to focus on strengthening other areas of their roster instead.
With 13 games played this season, the 21-year-old has maintained his impressive form, contributing to three goals and one assist. United are reportedly still looking at him as a potential left back option because of his contributions.
Seys would reach a major career milestone with a transfer to Old Trafford. The defender has a deep connection to Club Brugge because he spent his formative years there and has stayed with the Belgian club throughout his professional career.
But his recent statements make it sound like he isn't worried about what the future holds for him right now. Seys told Voetbal News that the club where he has grown as a player is still front and center in his mind.
The defender stated, "To be honest, I'm not really thinking about that much yet," suggesting that discussions about a transfer are not his top priority at the moment.
Also, Seys talked about how much he loves Club Brugge, saying that playing on the team so often is an incredible opportunity. His remarks demonstrated how significant the club was to him as a footballer.
I would sacrifice everything for this club because they are my beloved. Currently, my entire attention is directed toward Club Brugge. Once that is taken care of, we will observe the outcome," he explained.
While acknowledging the potential for future changes, his statement reaffirms his commitment to the Belgian side.
The rumored interest from Manchester United, however, could be back in the news when the January transfer window opens. In light of the club's need for a left back, INEOS, the recruiting agency, may reevaluate the defender as a possible target.
It seems like Seys is intent on ignoring everything else for the time being and getting down to business at Club Brugge. While a transfer to Manchester United is still on the table, the young Belgian has made it plain that his current allegiance is with the club he was born and raised with.
