According to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly earn enough money to pay back his £215 fine from the Portuguese Football Federation in just 30.17 seconds, highlighting the extraordinary financial power of the Al-Nassr superstar.
According to a report by The Standard, the calculation is based on Ronaldo’s estimated annual earnings, which reportedly reach £225 million when his football salary, sponsorship deals and other commercial activities are included. The figures make his latest financial penalty a relatively small amount compared with his enormous income.
The 41-year-old forward was fined €255, equivalent to approximately £215, and handed a 30-day suspension following his departure from Portugal’s national team camp in Denmark on September 30. The incident occurred ahead of Portugal’s Nations League match against Denmark after Ronaldo reportedly became frustrated over his role in the team.
Ronaldo had accused Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus of breaking promises regarding his involvement in the squad. Jesus, however, denied that any agreement had been made.
Following the controversy, Ronaldo issued a lengthy statement explaining his position and apologised for leaving his teammates and failing to acknowledge supporters after the match against Norway. He also indicated that he was willing to accept punishment for his actions.
The Portuguese Football Federation subsequently upheld the disciplinary charge, imposing the fine and suspension. However, the suspension is not expected to force Ronaldo to miss Portugal’s upcoming November fixtures because it is understood to have been backdated to the date of his departure from the training camp.
According to estimates cited by The Standard, Ronaldo earns approximately £488,000 per day. Based on his reported annual earnings, the £215 fine would represent only a tiny fraction of his overall income.
The calculation has sparked amusing reactions among football fans, with many highlighting the enormous financial difference between one of the world's highest-paid athletes and ordinary supporters.
Although the 30.17-second figure is an estimate based on reported earnings rather than money Ronaldo literally receives every second, it provides a striking illustration of his financial status.
For Ronaldo, the fine may be relatively insignificant financially, but the disciplinary action highlights the consequences of his decision to leave the national team camp
