Arsenal have been warned that signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in 2027 will be difficult, with former Gunners midfielder Gilles Grimandi believing the French club have little reason to sell the Georgian international.
According to a report by FootballTransfers on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, Grimandi believes Arsenal's interest in Kvaratskhelia is understandable but expects PSG to resist any attempt to prise the forward away from Paris.
Mikel Arteta's side are expected to prioritise signing a new left winger in 2027 after failing to replace Gabriel Martinelli during the summer transfer window. Kvaratskhelia has emerged as one of their preferred targets following his impressive performances for PSG.
The 25-year-old has established himself among Europe's leading attacking players and played a significant role in PSG's second consecutive Champions League triumph last season.
His ability to influence important matches has strengthened his reputation as one of the best players in his position.
Speaking to GOAL, Grimandi praised the winger's quality and consistency, particularly during the decisive stages of major competitions.
"This guy is special. He's special because he's always good in the big games and last season, every time when the competition was getting close to the end, he was getting better and better," Grimandi said.
He also highlighted Kvaratskhelia's work rate, defensive contribution and efficiency in the final third, describing him as a player capable of representing any leading European club.
"He can play for any team in Europe, of course he can play for Arsenal. For me, he's one of the best players in his position."
However, Grimandi questioned whether PSG would consider selling the forward, pointing to the club's financial strength and the importance of retaining their key players.
"I don't think they will do it. Now it's complicated when the guy plays in Paris because they have a huge salary and they do not need any money so it's quite complicated to pick up one of the best players and bring him to another team except if there is a problem."
He added that PSG would be particularly reluctant to lose Kvaratskhelia because of his expected influence during the decisive part of the season.
With a deal appearing difficult, Arsenal could consider alternatives, including Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz and Brentford's Kevin Schade.
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has also been mentioned as a potential option if he becomes available.
