Arsenal injury update on Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis

According to a report by Evening Standard on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Arsenal are monitoring the fitness of Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis ahead of their Premier League meeting with Everton, with all three players facing different injury situations.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping to receive positive news from the club's medical department as his team prepares for another important fixture. With Arsenal competing in both domestic and European competitions, having key players available could make a significant difference during this demanding period.

Saka's condition is attracting the most attention following his early substitution in Arsenal's 2-2 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich. The England winger picked up a quadriceps injury and was forced to leave the pitch after only 10 minutes.

His withdrawal immediately raised questions about whether he would be fit enough to participate in the upcoming match against Everton. Saka remains an important figure in Arsenal's attack because of his creativity, movement, goal contributions and ability to cause problems for opposing defenders.

Arteta has expressed concern about the situation, revealing that the player experienced sharp pain during the encounter. The Arsenal manager explained that additional assessments would be required before the club could determine the full extent of the injury.

Although October 24 has been identified as a possible return date, Saka's participation against Everton is not guaranteed. Arsenal will be reluctant to take unnecessary risks with the winger, especially with several crucial matches approaching.

Hincapie, on the other hand, could be in a better position to return to action after making progress in his recovery from an ankle injury.

The Ecuadorian defender picked up the problem during the warm-down session after Arsenal defeated Leeds United. The setback subsequently kept him out of several matches, limiting Arteta's defensive options.

Encouragingly, Hincapie has returned to individual training, suggesting that his recovery is moving in the right direction. Arteta has indicated that the defender could become available if he manages to train sufficiently before the Everton game.

His return would provide Arsenal with another defensive option and offer the manager greater flexibility when selecting his starting lineup. However, the club will still need to establish whether he has regained enough fitness to compete at the required level.

Tzolis is also facing an uncertain period after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for Greece against the Netherlands in the Nations League.

The winger was forced off early during the international fixture and underwent a scan before returning to his club. Arteta subsequently confirmed that the injury involved a muscle problem that would keep the player out for several weeks.

A return against Everton on October 24 has been suggested, but there is no guarantee that he will recover in time. His absence could further reduce Arsenal's attacking alternatives, particularly if Saka is also ruled out.

The situation leaves Arteta waiting for further medical updates as preparations for the Everton encounter continue. While Hincapie's progress offers some encouragement, the manager must remain cautious about Saka's quadriceps problem and Tzolis's hamstring injury.

Arsenal will be hoping to avoid further setbacks as they attempt to maintain consistency during a busy schedule. The availability of these players could influence Arteta's selection decisions, with the final assessment of their fitness expected to determine who can feature in the upcoming fixture.
