According to a report by Football London on Friday, November 6, 2026, Arsenal have received a boost following Thomas Tuchel's latest England squad announcement, with Noni Madueke missing out on selection ahead of the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain.
The Arsenal winger had been expected to earn a place in the squad, particularly with fellow attacker Bukayo Saka currently sidelined through a quadriceps injury. However, despite his encouraging performances in recent weeks, Tuchel decided against including the former Chelsea player in his selection.
Madueke has been in good form for Arsenal, scoring against Slavia Prague on Wednesday as Mikel Arteta's side secured a 2-1 victory. He also found the net in their 1-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest.
The 24-year-old has registered three goals and one assist in his last eight appearances for the Gunners, making his omission a notable decision from the England manager.
Madueke was previously an important member of Tuchel's squad at the World Cup during the summer, starting four matches as England progressed to the semi-finals.
He also missed the previous international camp, which featured Nations League encounters against Spain, Czechia and Croatia. The winger subsequently used the disappointment as motivation to improve his performances at club level.
Meanwhile, Declan Rice has returned to the England squad after missing the previous camp because of workload management. The Arsenal midfielder has featured regularly for his club since then, including Wednesday's Champions League encounter against Slavia Prague.
Arteta defended his decision to field Rice despite rotating several players, explaining that the midfielder had benefited from sufficient recovery time following his previous appearance against Fleetwood. However, his return to international duty could raise questions about his workload, particularly considering the injury problems he has experienced.
Rice battled hamstring discomfort during the summer World Cup and reportedly required injections to remain available for selection. He was also spotted holding the back of his right hamstring during Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Everton.
The Gunners will therefore hope that the 27-year-old can manage his fitness carefully during the international break. Elsewhere, Ben White has earned a recall after recovering from the knee injury that ruled him out of the World Cup.
Arsenal players Eberechi Eze and Myles Lewis-Skelly have also been selected, alongside Rice and White. England will host Croatia at Wembley on November 12 before travelling to Madrid to face Spain three days later.
