According to a report by Barca Universal on Friday, November 6, 2026, Barcelona will have five players representing Spain after national team manager Luis de la Fuente unveiled his squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Czechia and England.
Spain are preparing for two important fixtures during the November international break, with the reigning world champions scheduled to travel to face Czechia on November 12 before welcoming England three days later, on November 15.
Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia, defender Pau Cubarsi, midfielders Pedri and Fermin Lopez, and forward Lamine Yamal have all earned places in De la Fuente's squad, giving the five players another opportunity to represent their country and strengthen their positions ahead of future international competitions.
Yamal continues to be a major figure in Spain's attacking setup, while Pedri remains an important presence in the middle of the pitch. Cubarsi's selection further underlines the growing influence of Barcelona's young defensive talents in the national team, while Fermin has been rewarded with another chance to impress the manager following his recent performances for the Catalan club.
Joan Garcia's inclusion is also a positive development for Barcelona, as the goalkeeper receives recognition for his progress from the Spanish national team coach.
However, several Barcelona-related names will be missing from the selection. Spain captain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been ruled out after picking up an injury during his side's previous encounter against Aston Villa. The midfielder is expected to spend approximately a month on the sidelines.
Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has also been left out because of an injury, while Gavi has failed to make the squad amid reports that his limited playing time under Hansi Flick in recent weeks has contributed to his omission.
Other Barcelona players who were not selected include Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal and Alejandro Balde.
Gavi's absence is particularly significant considering the midfielder's previous importance to the Spanish national team. He will now be hoping to regain his place by earning more consistent opportunities at club level.
Overall, Barcelona's five representatives in De la Fuente's latest selection provide further evidence of the club's continued influence on the Spanish national team.
